Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Slidezilla ("we", "us") provides AI-assisted exam practice for students on tablet devices. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and with US state privacy laws where applicable.

Who we are

Slidezilla is the data controller for information processed through the Slidezilla app and slidezilla.ai. Contact: support@slidezilla.ai.

Children and students

Slidezilla is designed for students preparing for GCSE and SAT exams, typically aged 13–18. We collect the minimum data needed to run the service, we do not sell personal data, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not use student data for marketing. Users under 13 may not create an account. Where consent is the legal basis and the user is under the age of digital consent, a parent or guardian must provide it.

What we collect

AI processing

Answers you submit are sent to our servers and processed by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude, via our secure server — your data is never sent from your device directly to a third party) to mark your work and generate lessons. We contractually prohibit our AI provider from training on this data.

Legal bases

We process data to perform our contract with you (running the service), for legitimate interests (security, service improvement), and with consent where required (e.g. optional communications).

Retention

Account and study data are kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request. You can delete your account and all data from the app's settings or by emailing support.

Sharing

We share data only with processors needed to run the service (cloud hosting on AWS in the UK/EU region, AI processing, payment providers for subscriptions). We never sell personal data.

Your rights

You (or your parent/guardian) can request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, and can object to or restrict processing, by emailing support@slidezilla.ai. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with our response.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
